is pleased to announce the selection of Robert Mitts to head the site's
Fire Photography section. Mitts has been photographing fireground operations
of the New York City Fire Department over the past 12 years.
His photos have been published in all of the major daily newspapers in New York City as well as the local papers. He has also been published in many fire related publications around the country including cover photos on Firehouse Magazine, Fire Engineering,, W.N.Y.F. Magazine, Firefighter's Quarterly, Fire & Rescue News and FIRE & RESCUE Magazine's. Many of his photos have also been featured in many training seminars around the country by some of the top fire service instructors in the game today. During the early 90's, Robert was staff photographer and later a senior editor at Firefighter's Quarterly. After leaving FFQ in 1995, he and two other individuals starting a fire publication which would be strictly dedicated to the FDNY entitled, Fire & Rescue News. Currently, he is a regular contributor to 1st Responder News, 9-1-1 Magazine, Fire Engineering and W.N.Y.F., the official training magazine for the New York City Fire Department. He takes great pride in supplying the New York City Fire Department with my photos as many of them have appeared in FDNY Publications such as WNYF, Medal Day Books, Programs, Annual Reports and FireWorks. He is the webmaster of www.fdnyphotography.com, a comprehensive photography web site that features photos on the New York City Fire Department. He also maintains FDNY's ENGINE 274's web site at www.engine274.com. Robert has
worked with the Uniformed Firefighters Association, Panasonic, IOWA-AMERICA,
Helmets USA, Pennwell Publications, Partner Saws, Morning Pride, Inc. and
their affiliate, TOTAL FIRE GROUP and PROVIDENT Insurance to name a few
where my photos have been featured in advertisements.
