Close call in Forest City

Just after 08:30 hours Tuesday, Wayne County
Communication Center dispatched a box assignment for a working house fire
at 88 Dundaff Street in Forest City, PA. First due engine, Engine
41 (Forest City) had heavy fire showing on Side A on all floors of the
two story wood frame structure. Second due engine, Engine
43 (Browndale) took position on side C with its own water supply.

An agressive exterior attack
was mounted using a tailboard master stream from Engine 41 and large diameter
handle lines by Engine 43. Prior to arrival of the first company a male
occupant jumped to safety from an attic window. Ladder
18 (Clifford/Susquehanna County) took position on side C, supported
by Engine 43 once ladder pipe operations commenced.
Engine 52 was the Rapid Intervention
Team.
Companies remained on the
scene for nearly three hours with extensive overhaul operations. The cause
of the fire is under investigation.
