Oaks house hit by fire

2004 - On this cold Saturday morning units were dispatched to the 1100
block of Carrington Avenue in Chapel Oaks, MD, for a house fire. Engine
384, Engine 332 and Rescue Squad 8 arrived on the scene of a 2-story brick
duplex with smoke showing.

Engine 382 split
laid coming in and Engine 332 took the hydrant. The crews from Engine 384
and Engine 332 advanced an attack line into the 1st floor.
The fire was on the
1st floor with heavy smoke conditions throughout the house.
There were reports
of the possibility that two small children were not accounted for, the
crew from Rescue Squad 8 initiated a search on the 2nd floor immediately. |

Truck 33 placed
ladders, ventilated and performed a primary search on the 1st floor. Engine
222 and Engine 83 both pulled back up lines.
Truck 5's crew assisted
with searches and overhaul. The searches came up negative and there were
no injuries reported.
Excellent job done
by ALL. Volunteer Chief 38 (Bolding) had Command and Division Chief Jeff
