Fire hits Setauket NY Home
By Dennis Whittam
On Sunday, January 19th, neighbors called the Setauket Fire Department to 15 Tulip Hill, reporting that flames were shooting out of a second floor window of the home. Upon arrival, Chief Paul DiBiase informed his dispatcher that Setauket had a confirmed working fire.

Chief DiBiase and Chief Robert Hoey made entry into the house and performed a primary search of the home. Fortunately no occupants were present. However, a fully involved bedroom fire was located on the second floor.

Setauket’s Engine 10 was the first engine on scene and immediately stretched a 1-3/4” solid bore line to the front door where Chief DiBiase instructed his crew on the exact location of the fire. Crews from Engine 9 and 10 advanced the line’s to the second floor where the bedroom fire was quickly knocked down due to an aggressive attack on the fire.

Mutual Aid was provided by the Centereach Fire Department, the Port Jefferson Fire Department and the Stony Brook Fire Department. The Suffolk County Arson Squad was called to investigate the origin of the fire. Once again Brookhaven Town’s bravest made a great stop!
