On January 27, 2004 at 12:30 hours Bradford
County, PA EOC alerted Greater Valley EMS and Rescue for a reported 2 car
MVA with unknown injuries or entrapment at the intersection of Keystone
Avenue and Stevenson Street, Sayre Borough.
Valley-3 (A/C T. Pruitt) arrived on location
assumed the Incident Command and to find a car vs a transportation bus,
confirming the Rescue Assignment bringing 1 engine from Sayre Fire Department
to the scene. |

MICU 35, MICU 36 and RES7CUE arrived on
location with MICU-36 instructed to take the entrapped victim in the 1996
Cadillac. MICU 34 was given the assignment to Triage the bus driver and
passengers in the bus, however the 4 passengers and the driver all denied
injury and requested to refuse all medical treatment. |

Rescue-7’s crew was given the extrication
assignment. Greater Valley Rescue personnel went to work with cribbing
and placed the “O Cutters and the Paladin hydraulic tool into service.
The driver’s side door was removed and
then relief cuts were made on the lower and upper portions of the “A” post.
Rescue personnel then used the ram to push the dash up and off the victim. |

The victim was freed in approximately
12 minutes where he was then transported “Class-1” to Robert Packer Hospital.
