Mountain View Fire Protection District 

The Mountain View Fire Protection District is a progressive combination organization situated about 30 miles north of Denver, Colorado.  We serve 225 square miles in Boulder, Weld, and Broomfield counties.  We serve the communites of Mead, Erie, Dacono, Niwot, Firestone, and unincorpated areas in Boulder, Weld and Broomfiled Counties. 

In 2000 the department  responded to 2309 incidents. Approximatley 70% of the calls were medical in nature.  The department has36 career personnel and 90 volunteers, operating out of 7 stations. Four are staffed with volunteers exclusively, and the other 3 staffed with both career and volunteer personnel. 

The department operates on a budget of 3.2 million and are funded by a mill levy tax of 7.817 mills for all taxable property in our District.
