Trains
collide in Missouri, 7 hurt

Seven people were injured
early Saturday morning in southeastern Missouri after two freight trains
collided, taking out a nearby overpass. A Union Pacific train t-boned a
Burlington Northern train at an intersection, Scott County Sheriff Rick
Walter told KFVS-TV. The collision caused one of the trains to derail and

dumping two vehicles into the icy waters and creating a gaping hole in
Washington state’s major north-south artery.

of a Dallas firefighter.
Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman
Jason Evans says the firefighter radio’d in shortly before 5:30 a.m. that
he was trapped and lost, at which point his radio went dead. The six-alarm
fire sent flames shooting through the roof of a three-story condominium
complex on Monday morning, sending residents scurrying from their homes
and forcing firefighters to rescue people from the burning building. |
